Vanessa is a Registered Social Worker specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, pre and post natal depression, and birth trauma.
Qualifications and Experience
Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Social Work degree and is a Registered Social Worker in Manitoba. Vanessa has worked in multisystem teams providing both individual and group counselling as well as intervention, planning and mental health assessments.
She has worked a number of years with a diverse population, specifically new comers to Canada and Indigenous women.

Profile Information (Philosophy)
It is through my collective experiences that I developed a deeper insight into the role of a Social Worker and the transformative support provided through it. It is my belief that Social Work is having the knowledge to promote social change and welfare within society.
Recognizing and practicing evidence-based theories, empowering and advocating for the needs of individuals. I am committed to continuous learning to keep pace with new techniques as Social Work evolves.
I have respect for diversity of faith and cultural differences including Aboriginal, Métis, Inuit, and First Nations people and the challenges they face. I use a client-centered approach and have worked with marginalized vulnerable people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
I am a strong advocate for women’s health within the medical field.
